Prayer of Salvation
Salvation comes from the Greek word soteria, which means "deliverance, preservation and safety." Salvation is the deliverance from the bondage of sin. It is a gift made available to those who repent, those who believe and those who confess that Jesus is Lord and that he died and rose from the dead to save mankind (Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9-10).

"Anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he (abides, lives makes his home) in God" (1 John 4:15 AMP).

The following steps will help you obtain and maintain the salvation experience:

1. Recognize and admit that you are a sinner.
Adam's sin of disobedience in the Garden of Eden was affected by, and infected with, sin (Romans 5:12-14). Therefore, everyone that was born after Adam was born into a life of sin and death. "For all have sinned" (Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6).

2. Acknowledge you deserve the punishment of sin.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life"
(Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15).

3. Repent of your sins.
This means to "change one's minds; to change one's direction; to have a change of heart." It involves making a complete turn away from sin.

4. Affirm that Christ took your punishment on the Cross.
"While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8, I Peter 3:18).

5. Accept and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Confession affirms that Jesus has lordship (place of authority) over your life. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13, John 1:12).

6. Pray the prayer of salvation.
If you recognize and admit that you are a sinner & want to accept and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, pray by faith:

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your Word says, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10). Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart, be the Lord over my life. I confess that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead. You also said in Your Word, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: HOW MUCH MORE shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him" (Luke 11:13). I also ask You to fill me with the Holy Spirit. I fully expect to speak with other tongues as You give me the utterance (Acts 2:4).

If you have just prayed this prayer, please contact us with this praise report and let us know of your decision.

Hallelujah, You're Saved! Now what?
This is the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. To deepen this relationship you should:

  • Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
  • Talk to God in prayer everyday.
  • Tell others about Christ - share the Good News.
  • Be led by God to join a local church.
  • Attend bible study regularly.
  • Experience the fullness of life that God has given you through Jesus Christ.

Once you become born again (saved), you must renew your mind. To be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind you must change your mental and spiritual attitude.

What about children?
Salvation is a decision that can be made very young in life. "Let the little children come unto Me. And do not forbid them, for to them belongs the kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 19:14). There are many other scriptures in the Bible about children. Jesus taught many lessons about children. Throughout His life on earth, He raised children from the dead, healed them from sickness, fed them when they were hungry, walked and talked to them, held them, and taught them. Whether the parents are saved or not, children still need to receive the free gift of Jesus Christ for themselves. Be saved by grace and accept Jesus Christ at a young age!
